Inspired by the Nine Eagles Solo Pro, WL-Toys launched their first V911 in late 2011. It was their first RC helicopter launch and it was an instant success. Before long, the V911 is a family title. Since its initial launch, the V911 notorious “CORTER” typo and the separating swash plate have been fastened. The Rx has gone through many revisions for minor tweaks, and the battery connectors have been modified. Otherwise, the fundamental V911 design was untouched since its introduction. WL-Toys then shifted their focus to Quadcopters. Despite its enormous success, the unique V911 is not without flaws. This V911-Pro is a long overdue update and an attempt to repair points. So, will this updated V911-Pro fix the failings of the V911 and take over its reign?

Overall, the unique V911 was a really nice package. However, misses include the delicate wire-thin skids, versatile frame, glued components, noisy cover, flybar strikes, bucking horse flights, lack of ability to penetrate wind, hypersensitive yaw, and the nostril diving flight characteristics. 
At first look, WL-Toys definitely addressed the frame and skids. The frame is now a lot stronger, and so are the landing skids. The skids are connected to the frame by 2 screws, so that they received’t easily get separated. The cover is far lighter and extra flexible than earlier than. 

This is a flight demonstration comparing the V911 V1 to the V911 PRO. Both helicopters have the following upgrades: paddled flybar, carbon main shaft, fish eye swash plate, and Xtreme productions delrin main gear. The V911 V1 also has upgraded skids.
