Inspired by the Nine Eagles Solo Pro, WL-Toys launched their first V911 in late 2011. It was their first RC helicopter launch and it was an instant success. Overall, the original V911 was a very good package deal. However, misses include the delicate wire-thin skids, versatile body, glued components, noisy cover, flybar strikes, bucking horse flights, incapability to penetrate wind, hypersensitive yaw, and the nostril diving flight characteristics. 
At first glance, WL-Toys positively addressed the body and skids. The body is now a lot stronger, and so are the landing skids. The skids are attached to the frame by 2 screws, in order that they won’t easily get separated. The cover is far lighter and extra versatile than before.
